Progress on New Mall Theater

Officials at Midway Mall have received the permit from the city of Sherman to begin renovations in the former Movies 5 theater to convert it to a ‘eat-in theater’ such as “Studio Movie Grill” or “Movie Tavern” in the metroplex.

“We will be getting with a contractor to begin the work,” said Tabetha Snow, Midway Mall manager. “We do know that we will have three screens working instead of just the two we first thought.”

According to Snow, the mall doesn’t have a company to do the food service piece yet, but they are ‘working with several in the Dallas area.’

Snow has previously said that the new theater will open in August.
