Date Set for New Movie Theater at the Mall

The ‘Eat-In’ theater at Midway Mall is opening Friday, Sept. 14 with the name “Midway Theaters. This new theater, formerly Cinemark’s “Midway Movies 5,” will have two screens with 35mm capability. The other three screens, with digital capability, will be open in the coming months, according to Midway Mall Manager Tabetha Snow.

”We have one new food vendor opening in the food court and several more in the works,” said Snow. “ ‘Bonkers 4 Wings’ is planning on opening a week from Friday. (Aug. 31) They will be Sherman's first chicken wing restaurant that delivers and will sell a wide variety of flavors of wings.”

According to Snow, the mall also had a new tenant open in July. “D Master Jeweler” is located in the old ‘Claire's’ space.

“They do jewelry, watch and clock repairs, sell watch batteries and some jewelry; and they pay cash for gold,” said Snow. “We have several other new stores in the works as well.”

Also, Snow announced that the local Sears store at Midway Mall was rated #1 for July in the nation out of 822 stores in the chain.

“We are extremely excited about this,” said Snow.
